Problem
The Öksüt Madencilik mining facility in Develi, Kayseri needed softened water to feed its boilers and safe drinking water for its employees. Hard water causes scaling and efficiency losses in boilers, while microbiological safety was essential for the drinking water.
Solution
- Removal of suspended solids with a sand filter with a capacity of 80,000 litres a day
- Uninterrupted hardness removal with duplex softening with a capacity of 80,000 litres a day
- Membrane protection with antiscalant dosing
- Reverse osmosis system with a capacity of 10,000 litres a day
- UV disinfection system
Result
The boiler feed and drinking water needs are met by the treatment system installed at the facility; the sand filter and duplex softening process 80,000 litres of water a day, while the reverse osmosis system produces 10,000 litres of treated water a day and UV disinfection supports the microbiological safety of the water.
