How do Greywater Treatment Systems work?
Greywater is the wastewater from showers, washbasins and washing machines that contains no toilet waste, and it makes up more than half of the wastewater in a building. Unlike wastewater treatment, greywater treatment is not a legal obligation but a decision to make use of water: you collect the water that would go to the sewer separately, treat it and reuse it for irrigation, toilet cisterns or process water.
Today Arıtım greywater systems work in four stages: collection through separate lines within the building and pretreatment to remove physical contaminants; biological treatment with MBR, MBBR or a biofilter to reduce the organic load; advanced treatment with UV, ultrafiltration or membrane technologies to ensure safety; and storage for redistribution to landscape irrigation, cistern supply and process water.
It gives businesses a 30-50% reduction in water consumption, low operating costs, a lighter load on infrastructure, a contribution to green building certification and sustainable water use against drought. Industrial plants, hotels, public buildings, shopping centres, housing projects and logistics centres are the main fields of application.
