Problem
Hyosung's production plant in the Çerkezköy Organised Industrial Zone needed more than one million litres of treated water a day for its processes, and much higher purity for part of this water. At this scale, the water separated out as waste in the treatment line also had to be recovered.
Solution
- Pretreatment with a multimedia sand filter and an activated carbon system
- Protection of the membranes against scaling with antiscalant dosing
- RO48000 reverse osmosis with a capacity of 1,152,000 litres a day in the first pass
- pH dosing and a second pass with RO3500 at 84,000 litres a day
- Deionisation system with a capacity of 120,000 litres a day
- Wastewater recovery: acid and antiscalant dosing, 2 RO12000 reverse osmosis units
Result
The plant is supplied with 1,152,000 litres of reverse osmosis water a day; for uses that require high purity, the second pass provides 84,000 litres a day and the deionisation system 120,000 litres a day. The two RO12000 units on the wastewater recovery line return water to the process with a total capacity of 576,000 litres a day.
